Population
The population of Ethiopia is 93,877,025. The population of the United States is about 3.4 times greater than that of Ethiopia (CIA World Factbook).  There are large cities such as Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa that holds a large amount of the country’s population (2.8 million.) However, most of the Ethiopian population is primarily rural, with most people living in the highlands above 5,900 feet (Infoplease Encyclopedia).

Agriculture
Ethiopia’s economy is primarily based on agriculture, as it accounts for 46% of its GDP and 85% of employment (CIA World Factbook). A few major export crops of Ethiopia include, coffee, hide and skins (for leather products), oilseeds, beeswax, and tea. Coffee is the most important agricultural activity in Ethiopia, as 25% of all Ethiopians count on it for their livelihoods (Nations Encyclopedia).
